Ella Lasky, PhD is in private practice in New York City. She’s been helping individuals and couples become their better selves for 30 years.
Dr. Lasky has over 30 years of experience and is trained in both individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis as well as couples therapy. She integrates these modalities with a contemporary and compassionate approach.
Dr. Lasky teaches and supervises in the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP)’s psychoanalytic training program, the psychodynamic training program and couples/family training program.
Dr. Lasky graduated with a certificate in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy from New York University’s prestigious Post-Doctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She served on the Board of Directors of their graduate society, The Psychoanalytic Society. Dr Lasky is a supervisor in the ICP 4 year and 2 year psychotherapy programs.
Dr. Lasky studied family systems at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, one of the best known and most highly regarded training facilities for family therapists in the United States. She consulted with the NYU PostDoctoral Program’s Specialty in Couples and Family therapy. Dr Lasky was the Director of Training at the ICP Family and Couples Division and presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Family and Couples Division of ICP, where she continues to teach and supervise.
Dr. Lasky has been listed in Who’s Who of American Women multiple times, published 16 articles on various clinical issues in professional journals, and edited one book on gender titled “Humanness: An Exploration into the Mythologies about Women and Men”.
