Four Habits of Happy Couples

coupleFour great hints to improve your relationship.

1. Express Admiration and Affection….look for ways to appreciate and feel fondness for your partner, and express those things—when times are good.

2. Make Room in Your Head for the Other Person….ask questions about how your partner thinks about things or feels about different parts of life tells them that you care and want to know about them. Couples who love well keep these “love maps” of each other in the forefront of their minds.

3. Accept Influence from Each Other….the happiest couples ask for and allow the other’s opinion to influence major and minor decisions.

4. Know Your Partner’s Inner World….it is important to accept and respect our partner’s dreams, the meanings attached to them and help our partner to reach their (appropriate) goals.

Of course there are many other ways to enhance one’s relationship, but these four are an excellent beginning.
